Culverts Construction Constrained by Electric Poles

Culverts construction on Jalan Raya Cipayung, RW 03, Cipayung, East Jakarta, is constrained by the existence of electric poles that have not been moved.

From nine electric poles, three still have not been moved. That’s why the culverts cannot be installed yet

Head of Flood Handling Facilities and Infrastructures for East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Supriyatno, said those electric poles caused the soil cannot be dug. Moreover, many utility networks, such as fiber optic, clean water pipes, and telephone cables, are also adding more difficulties to the workers.

From nine electric poles, three still have not been moved. That’s why the culverts cannot be installed yet,” he stated, Thursday (4/17).

Another Two Reservoirs to Be Constructed

Due to facing many obstacles, the completion of this project becomes behind schedule from initial target of December last year. Not to mention, the workers had to shift the utility networks little by little. As a result, this project is predicted to finish in about a month away.

Currently, from 210 meters of the culverts, there are still 8 meters more to go. However, culverts installation had to wait the electric poles moved first. The work itself is carried out from 11 PM until 3 AM.
